22 weeks

Today Gabe had to work some and make some phone calls. Mom and I went to the daycare she works at, and they were kind enough to let us borrow a crib. It was a relaxing day and then Alyssa and Chris came for dinner. I think mom and Alyssa were still pinching themselves to make sure we were really there!

Hangin on gramas bed...

21 weeks 6 days/ big surprise

Today Baby L got to take her first plane ride. We planned a surprise trip to South Carolina to visit grandma, Auntie Alyssa and Uncle Chris. With a few white lies and some serious secret keeping we were able to pull this off with huge success. Baby L was awesome on the plane, she slept most of the first flight. Then, since our plane was delayed leaving Vegas they had to hold our plane in Houston and we basically just got off one plane and on to the other. Since, we were the last to board Gabe and I couldn't even sit by each other. At first, I was very nervous to sit by myself with baby L. However, we sat in between two very nice men who both had children and were awesome talking, laughing, and even letting baby L push and pull them. She only slept about 30mins of the 2.5 hour flight but seriously she did so well. Once we arrived uncle chris was waiting for us in baggage claim, and we loaded up and drove the 45 mins to surprise auntie and grandma. Chris had planned it so they would have dinner at moms, so little did they know we would be joining them too! By the time we got to grandmas baby L was exhausted and crying, poor baby. We had uncle chris carry her in, gabe followed behind with the video camera, then I came in. I can seriously say the shock on mom and alyssa's face was priceless. They could not believe we had flown all this way and us and chris had kept such a secret for so long!

5 month letter

Dear Baby L...
We can't believe you are 5 months already, where is the time going!?! You are loving all the new foods you are trying. You are now eating rice cereal, oatmeal, multi grain cereal, green beans and apricots. We are making your baby food, as it is much cheaper and we know exactly what's in it. The doctor couldn't believe you loved green beans, he said most babies that is their least favorite. You are growing like a weed, weighing 17# 10oz and 26in.

You are rolling all over, and when on your tummy you push your little feet to move yourself all around. We have a feeling it won't be long until you are crawling. You are not a fan of playing on your back anymore. You always want to sit up or even stand, no matter where you are. You are trying very hard to sit up on your own and are doing quite well. However, you are such a mover sometimes you end up tipping over while you are playing. You are now able to grab anything within your reach. The other day as we were walking by the counter, you pulled your diaper bag right on the floor.

You are enjoying swim class, and have even learned to close your eyes when going face first in the water. You love the water so much, you sit in the bath till the water is cold. You love having stories read to you, sitting perfectly still and looking at every page.

You are getting quite the personality. You definitely know mommy and daddy's voice and know when we leave the room. You love smiling, laughing, and singing and we thoroughly enjoy the entertainment. You love your daddy, you two are always making silly faces, laughing and smiling at each other. Definitely two peas in a pod! Thanks to grampa you have learned to make a little spitting/motor noise. Who knows maybe we have a future trumpet or French horn player.

We fall more in love with you everyday and couldn't imagine life without you!

We love you to the moon and back,
Mommy and Daddy

21 weeks 4 days/ baby L's first 4th of July

Today we got to celebrate baby L's first 4th of July! Daddy and baby L hung out, while mommy hit some sales at the mall. Then we had a wonderful BBQ with grampa, and had ribs, bread, pasta salad and homemade brownies! I highly doubt any of us will see the fireworks tonight, but I'm sure we can catch a replay on the morning news!
In her 4th of July outfit from Grama v and grampa d!

Peace...

So I bought her a new bathing suit ( size 12 months, should I remind you she is barely 5 months) and yes her belly still sticks out!!!
